Skyzim.com was established in 2007 and started its life as a free, remotely hosted blog on WordPress.com under the name of Unter-Hund. Due to growing demands for bandwidth, hosting, and customization, Skyzim was launched on it’s own hosted server. Here you can find Hardware/Software Reviews, Technology News, and much more.

About Myself:

My name is Erich, I am a bit of a tech obsessed person who likes to buy new technology as often as possible. I’m the kind of guy who likes to do tweaking to a system and I often overclock/modify most of my stuff.

I like Linux and anything to do with open source. I’ve also done a bit of work in Photoshop. I hope that you enjoy reading through the blog, and I hope you check back often.

Also, I love listening to all kinds of music. Just in case you couldn’t tell from the picture.

Some history:

I’ve been using Linux for about 5 years now. My first distribution was Fedora Core 4 on an old Gateway E-3000 with 128mb of RAM and a Pentium 1 processor. It was slow as anything but it got me started in the world of Linux, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Some of the distributions I’ve tried over the years include Fedora Core, Knoppix, Debian, Damn Small Linux, Dream Linux, Zenwalk, etc.

I tend to get bored of using the same old desktop rather quick, which is probably why I’m always installing a new distribution, but it’s a great way to try out all the different flavors.

Currently I run a basic setup that includes a dual boot of Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala.
